Doomy Prepper wins a Gold Medal!

I hope you had an amazing weekend! I know I did.

I've been slightly delirious with awesome news. It was finally announced over the weekend, which means I can finally share it with you!

My middle-grade book, Doomy Prepper's Complete Guide: How to Survive Fifth Grade and the Apocalypse just won a first place gold medal in the Feathered Quill Book Awards Young Reader category!!

I'm just thrilled beyond measure! Not only did they have double the amount of entries from the previous year but Doomy won by a landslide!

Here are some of the judges comments:

"A fun story...this is one that should be a series" (don't worry - I plan on it!)

"This book was very well done. Definitely fun, adventurous. The Character of Doomy (and his friends) were so much fun. This title is perfect for this age group." (yay! I know I shouldn't have favorites, but if I had to choose, I would say Doomy is a top contender!)

"Hands-down the winner in this category." (*cries* I'm still in disbelief!)

Judges also loved the book title, the cover art, and the chapter titles/headings. I have to admit, the chapter headings are one of my favorite parts of the book, too. Doomy lists three things he knows to be a fact....but then the last one is always flipped on its head, throwing Doomy for a loop. It's silly and fun and I loved writing it.

Many, many thanks to Feathered Quill for this honor. I couldn't be happier! Doomy's cover will be adorned with a gold medal sticker in the coming weeks, too! If you'd like to check it out and read the first few pages for free on Amazon, you can find it here:
